My gosh, Kara, I know we're friends and I'm trying to not let that bias me but daaaangg, this is so good! Like Troy said, there's something so compelling about family histories and the container in which you're telling this story is so delicious. Your heartfelt rendering of this recollection is beautiful. Please, please more of this!

Oh my goodness. There's something so compelling about family histories - my own has some tales of alcoholism and drug addiction and other things, and I'm just fascinated how those translate down the years to our view of the world.
