We're Writing Today At 1:00, EST.
Join us to co-write online. We meet. We chat. We mute. We write in silence. One hour of focus in the chaos of the day. It helps to do this together.

The Amenano river runs underneath the city of Catania in Sicily, and when it rises it floods the lower level of the roman amphitheater. The site of the theater is two blocks away from where I am staying, and the history is astounding. The site is prehistoric. The greeks built their theater in marble on the site, and then the Romans used local lava stone and brick to build theirs on top. In the 5th century it was converted for use into a water theater where naval battles were portrayed and large aquatic life was displayed. After an earthquake in the 1600s the roman theater in Catania was nearly destroyed and it fell into private hands. Much of the old marble was used to build the cathedral of Saint Agatha. Palaces were built on top of the theater and even inside. Today the facade of the building looks quite ordinary, and you can see apartments whose windows look directly down onto the seats.
Write with us, paint with us, stare into space with us for an hour. Even if you don’t put words on the page it’s still worth it to make your appointment with the muse. Inspiration wont show up 100% of the time. But since I don’t know which days it will, I figure I should be there anyway at the designated time and place.

Join us for one hour of focus during the chaos of the day. We are practicing serious self-compassion by showing up even on dark days. We meet on Zoom at 1:00 pm, EST. We leave our cameras on so it feels less lonely. We wrap up at 2:00. Those who are onto something just continue writing. Those who want to check in can chat.
